Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Root Cellar has a bunch of fresh, never-been-frozen whole chickens from Country Neighbors Farm out of Fayette, MO. I like these birds a lot, obviously superior to the terrible mass produced chickens and I think they're even better than the birds Show-Me Farm raises...These fresh chickens seem to come around once every six-eight weeks or so...so, go get one before they're gone. May I kindly suggest roasting it like this?

  1. I raise chickens for eggs and meat, and it takes Cornish cross (meat) chickens about 6-8 weeks to reach butcher weight. Thus the periodic availability of chickens.

  2. Wow that's awesome that you raise your own chickens! So when are you inviting me over for dinner ;)

  3. Agree. Country Neighbors is our go-to bird. All the flavor of a farm-raised bird without the chewiness I've run into with others.

  4. Any idea how much they are?
